Draft for legal review
Last updated: Draft — pending review

This document is prepared as a product-ready draft. It should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before being relied on as final legal terms. Nothing on this page constitutes legal advice.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — name, email, sign-in identifiers.
  • Resume and profile data you upload or enter.
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, interactions.
  • Uploaded documents and files you provide.
  • AI interaction data — prompts and generated outputs used to power your experience.

2. How data is used

We use your information to provide and improve personalized career guidance — resume analysis, interview practice, learning recommendations, and mentoring. We do not sell your personal data.

3. AI processing

AI-powered features may process user-provided content to generate suggestions. Prompts and outputs may be used to operate the feature you invoked. We do not use your private data to train third-party foundation models.

4. Data sharing

We share data with service providers that help operate CareerGenie (hosting, infrastructure, AI model providers) under appropriate terms. We do not sell personal data. A subprocessor list will be published after legal review.

5. Data retention

We retain data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after. Specific retention windows will be finalized as part of legal review.

6. User controls

  • Update profile and resume information from your account.
  • Request account and data deletion via the Data Deletion page.
  • Contact support for privacy questions.

7. Data deletion requests

Requests are reviewed manually until the automated deletion workflow is connected. See Data Deletion for the request form.

8. Security practices

CareerGenie uses role-based access patterns, least-privilege defaults, and admin-route protection. Data handling practices are being reviewed as part of production readiness. This policy does not claim SOC 2, ISO, HIPAA, GDPR, or DPDP certification unless independently verified.

9. Children / minor users

CareerGenie is not intended for children under the age required by local law to create an online account. Education-partner workflows involving students of any age operate under the institution's own consent and governance.
